Space Train!

BNSF Line, Jupiter- (BiS) After what seems like forever for me, I'm back with (at least) one new post! And it's a zinger, an awesome Space Train by our own Jason Heltebridle. It has many striking features, such as the lustrous metal wheels, the yellow piping running along the side, and the bee-stripe insignia right near the cabin. The train itself is a tasteful combination of space elements with the look and feel of a classic Earth freighter. It also carries hints of the 10219 Maersk Train, a personal favourite of mine. Brick on, Jason!

Electronic Warfare Frigate "Kitsune"

This great microscale ship by spook (Tim Zarki) is about 5 years old, but I just now discovered it (As well as the builder). The colors look very nice to me, and I really love the antennae. I also recommend anyone not familiar with spook's stuff to take a few minutes and look through his photostream. There's lots of other great MOCs in there as well.

Ma.Ktoberfest 2012

So October, Ma.Ktober is upon us once again. What is that you ask? A contest that occurs every October revolving around the Machinen Krieger universe, thanks to .Tromas, who has laid out all the guidelines here.

If this year turns out anything close to what last years competition did, it'll definitely be fun to watch and/or participate in.

So forget the Halloween MOCs, spill out some bricks and get your Ma.K on!

The Boss

I love odd and uniquely shaped fighters, and this fighter by Nannan Z is a great example. Not only is it round, but it also includes spikes, sawblades, and a drill (Great for up close fighting).

Solid Fuel Starfighter

Earth - (BiS) ƒernald has built this wonderful Solid Fuel Starfighter which fits a minifigure under the front hatch. As with many posts here lately, it was built for the Real World Starfighters Contest on Flickr. This instantly reminded me of Voyager and the Apollo command modules. The dark orange works well as a substitute for the heat shielding and its mostly round shape is somewhat unique, especially for a fighter. The back view is well detailed and uses a few neat tricks. I am quite fond of the support structure for the turning thrusters and the lighting in the photo adds a warm touch. ƒernald also has quite a number of nice looking microbuilds on his photostream.

Glawfish Recon Vessel

The Glawfish Recon Vessel by SuperHardcoreDave (Dave Steeves) is one of the more interesting fighters I've seen in shape. The front looks more or less like a normal fighter, but the rear looks almost organic, like a lionfish or similar creature.

'STALKER' INTERCEPTOR BOMBER

Pierre E Fieschi is more well known for his microscale spaceships, but this vertical fighter is quite nice as well. As if the well designed fighter wasn't enough, Pierre even included a docking platform and ladder.

Comrade Rocks

Kuiper Belt- (BiS) When in space, there are two things one has to look out for- enemy lasers, and space debris. While the tattered remains of spacecraft and the like can often appear, the most common form of debris is space rocks. This craft, the Soyuz R-a11 MARAUDER, has not only made peace with the rocks, it has been quite utilitarian in its design, and incorporated them! Not only would this craft be something formidable to run (physically) into, a skirmish with it would also be ill-advised. From the impressive panel-mounted turrets, to the hidden bombs on the underside, and the well-camouflaged radar dish/laser.
